Ingredients

  • 250 ml whole or semi-skimmed milk (or oat milk for a dairy-free version)
  • A small pinch of saffron threads (about 5–6 threads)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • Pinch of ground cardamom

Method

  1. 1Warm the milk gently in a small saucepan over low heat. Do not boil.
  2. 2Add the saffron threads and allow to steep in the warm milk for 3–4 minutes, stirring occasionally — the milk will take on a gentle golden colour.
  3. 3Remove from heat and stir in the honey and cardamom.
  4. 4Pour into a mug and enjoy slowly before bed.
